What infomation you should be applies for…
All collisions you had when you were driving, even if the car you were driving was not yours or it was the only vehicle involved, should be included.
Comprehensive claims such as glass, windshield, hail, fire, or other natural disaster claims DO NOT need to be included.
Losses while a vehicle is parked usually do not need to be included. The exceptions to this rule are:
- If your vehicle is struck while illegally parked.
- If your vehicle rolls away while unattended, causing an accident.
Motorcycle accidents are not to be included in your auto insurance quote.
Pothole losses do not need to be included if the only damage to your vehicle is to the undercarriage of the car. However, if you had an accident due to loss of control after hitting a pothole, that incident would need to be included.
Note: All auto accidents, regardless of fault, should be reported, whether a police report was filed or not.
- Violations: All violations for which a driver has received a ticket, other than parking tickets, should be included. Seatbelt and cell phone violations also need to be included in the application.
- Theft or Vandalism: All incidents in which your vehicle was vandalized or stolen should be included, as well as partial thefts from your vehicle. Please be sure to provide the dollar amount of your damages.
