When driving your automobile in dangerous weather conditions it is extremely important that you drive with caution. There are many simple things that can do to prevent any accidents under these different weather conditions.
During cold weather be sure to:
- Keep a safe following distance
- Slow down even more during fog
- Have your battery serviced at least twice a year
- Carry chains if there is a possibility of snow
- Check all fluid levels in the car frequently
- Check your tires to make sure they are in good/safe condition
- Check the exterior lights to make sure they all work
- Check to see that the windshield wipers work correctly
- Change wiper blades if necessary
- Make sure your tires have good tread and designed to withstand winter conditions
- Carry a car kit designed for the winter months
